Long-Term Effects After Suffering A Concussion
Most concussions resolve within 2 to 4 weeks however some concussions can have symptoms lasting months to years.
This symptoms can include:
- balance difficulties
- confusion/short term memory loss
- sensitivity to light/sound
- mood changes
- vision changes
Research is also finding that there are some more serious long term cognitive effects associated with a concussion. It has been shown that even a minor brain injury can almost double the chances of acquiring Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, and Depression/Anxiety.
